Funding will help meet the specialized transportation needs of older adults and individuals with disabilities in Hamilton County

home52, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Council on Aging, has received a $25,000 grant from the Carol Ann and Ralph V. Haile, Jr. Foundation to support home52 Transportation. The funding will facilitate transportation services to help meet the medical and non-medical needs of older adults and individuals with disabilities in Hamilton County.

home52 Transportation stands out from other area transportation options, such as public transit and rideshare services, which often fall short in meeting the specific needs of older adults and individuals with disabilities. home52 Transportation offers door-through-door assistance, specialized vehicles, GPS tracking for enhanced safety, pre-scheduled trips available after hours and on weekends, friendly and mission-driven drivers, and communication with both clients and appointment destinations.

Support from the Carol Ann and Ralph V. Haile, Jr. Foundation will significantly improve the mobility and independence of individuals with specialized transportation needs, ensuring access to essential healthcare services and community activities. Through its specialized transportation services, home52 Transportation strives to enhance the quality of life of older adults and individuals with disabilities, promoting inclusion and active participation within their communities. This funding plays a crucial role in bridging the gap between accessibility and opportunity, highlighting the foundation's dedication to supporting services for vulnerable populations.
